ROCKET

Courteney Wharmby is a self-employed animal welfare specialist based in Cheadle, Greater Manchester. She holds a Level 3 Diploma in Animal Welfare and has spent years working hands-on with domestic pets, exotic animals, and livestock. Her business, Rocket Dog Walking and Pet Services, offers solo dog walks, pet sitting, small pet boarding, and specialized care for anxious, nervous, and difficult animals that other providers turn away.

When she came to Moto.Red in January 2023, Rocket was one year old and operating entirely through Facebook. Courteney had a clear personality, formal qualifications, and a genuine gift with animals, but no visual identity to anchor her reputation or present her business professionally beyond social media.

The brief was direct: build something bold, fresh, and impossible to forget. We designed the Rocket brand from the ground up. The logo, color system, business cards, brand copy, and pricing strategy were delivered as the core engagement deliverables. From there, we expanded the brand into advertising displays, product packaging concepts, and a visual system designed to grow with the business as it scales.

A mark that launches.

The Rocket logo was designed from a single insight: Courteney’s business is named after her ferret, Rocket, who changed her life. A dog silhouette riding a rocket into the stars became the mark, surrounded by a celestial scatter of stars, dots, and a crescent moon. The logotype is a flowing serif that balances personality with professionalism.

Colors as bold as the mission.

Courteney’s brief was explicit: bright, not pastel. The palette was built around her favorite colors, teal, red, and orange, anchored by a deep navy that grounds the energy and gives the brand authority. Star gold adds warmth and celebration. Together, the colors create a system that is vibrant enough to stop a scroll, professional enough to justify premium pricing, and flexible enough to work across every medium.

Ready for the real world.

Business cards were designed to lead with the logo and let the mark do the talking. A full advertising flyer was designed for local distribution across vets, pet shops, and community boards, leading with a hero photograph, the Rocket logo, a clear price point, and a complete list of services. An advertising stand mockup was produced for placement at local businesses, giving Courteney a professional presence in her community.

Exploring what is possible.

Beyond the core deliverables, we explored how far the Rocket brand could travel. The Rocket Fuel treat pouch was a product packaging concept that carried the full identity, including the color-blocked diamond pattern, the celestial scatter, and the wordmark, onto a stand-up pouch format. These pieces were designed to show the client what a complete brand system looks like when the business is ready to scale.

From solo walker to recognizable brand.

Rocket launched with a complete visual identity, a suite of print materials, advertising collateral, and a product concept, all built to reflect the professionalism Courteney brings to every animal she cares for. Alongside the visual identity, a pricing strategy was developed to help Courteney position her services at rates that reflect the quality of her care. The brand gave her the confidence and the tools to grow on her own terms.
